Biomass Fuel

EnCycle process food waste and its associated non-recyclable packaging waste into a biomass fuel, called Food Derived Fuel (FDF), which is then used to create renewable electricity. The process is energy efficient and an environmentally friendly solution which could change the way food waste is handled within the UK.

There has been keen interest in this project with three of the top UK food producers coming on board. Northern Foods, Greencore and Greggs will be processing all of their non-recyclable packaging waste when the first EnCycle plant comes into production in early 2008.
